EG1 Army Officer's Engraved (etched) Blade. By ALCOSO. I wish that I could tell you that this is the real thing, but it is one of the pieces produced by Reddick about 20 years ago. The main way to discern between the real and the 'wanna be' is that there is NO oak leaves on either side of the Wreath and Swastkia. It will slip right into the real scabbard and handle. The only one like this that I have seen. $40 Pictures: A B C D EG6 K-98 bayonet with etched blade. 41 ddl bayonet has been etched post war with Fallschirmjaeger motif: On the pommel of the handle is a parachute suspending a large Swastika. On the obverse side of the blade is a nice panel with "Fallschirmjaeger Regiment No 2" On the reverse side is similar panel with : "Mit Unsern Fuhrer ist der Seig" Nice deep etching but mottled background on the panels. A red felt plug fills the slot for the bayonet stud. The blue finish has been polished off when the etching was applied. Nice display piece, but not wartime issue, it was etched in England during the 50's. CONSIGNRM1 $800 Pictures: A B C D E F EG8 Sword hanger, long version with regain hook. This model was suspended from the sword belt worn under the uniform with the strap going through the lower left pocket to attach to the narrow belt that went around the waist. The snap on the bottom clipped to the square 'staple' on the back of the scabbard, the ring would then be sported by the hook on the chain to bring the sword up to a manageable distance off of the floor. White glass body with a lithopane of a soldier bidding adieu to a fair lady on the balcony. no chips, cracks, nor damage to the stein, great colors and detail to the artwork. Some moth holes, but this is a very rare flag indeed! CONSIGNRM5 $750 Pictures: A B C D EG21 NSDAP Triangular Pennant. 14" by 7.5". Reinforcing stitching on the end of the triangle, cord with snap runs through the white 'pole side' has a snap on one end and a knot on the other. The most unusual thing about this pretty pennant is that the White ball and the black swastika have the appearance of leather. I have had but one other if this type in 35 plus years. A little red is on one side of the white ball and there is a small abrasion to the black on the other side. The belt would slip through the leather loop and the the snap would clip onto a D ring at the end of a leather loop around the belt. Not a common item! Has been worn and the brass stud has been fitted in the other two holes. Good plus condition. $70 Picture: A EG25 Cast Iron Eagle and Swastika. Just over two pounds in weight, 8.5" wide and 7" high. At one time it was painted black, but that has come off over the years. I have seen a couple of these with holes in the wings to screw onto some surface. Good display piece for a collection. EJ1 SOLD EJ2 Goggle Case, Pigskin belt case used for carrying goggles. The vet told me that this one had 8mm Nambu ammunition in it when he got it on the battle field. Japanese card game played by two or more players. It is also the name of the
type of cards used to play this game. Each player uses Menko cards made from
thick paper or cardboard, with one or both side printed with images from
anime,
manga, etc. A player's card is placed on the hardwood or concrete floor and
the other player throws down his card, trying to flip the other player's card
with a gust of wind or by striking his card against the other card. If he
succeeds, he takes both cards. The player who takes all the cards, or the one
with the most cards at the game's end, wins the game. This game was sent to me by a good friend who ran across the set of cards and this link to the instructions. EA1 WWII (1943) Army-Navy Insignia Guide. Clever wheel setup that shows all the army ranks, shoulder boards, Naval sleeve stripes, and rating patches with a turn of the wheel. MANILA, P.I. The inside of the leather lid to the case has Manila, P.I. and the cloth strip, black with gold lettering: D. W. YANCEY. This name is scratched under the sunshades on the barrel of the lenses. The adjustment wheel is Gutta Percha, a hard rubber that was a precursor to bakelite and plastic. Both the eye piece rings are marked with the maker's name and the lens are quite large, the lens at the end fills the entire barrel tube. Leather wraps the body between the adjustment piece and the sunshades. I have had Civil War and Indian War binoculars that are identical to this. The parallax needs adjustment but the lens are very clear with no 'milky' effect. $165 Pictures: A B C D E F G H I EA27 Sweet Heart handkerchief still in the box. From Russell Workman to Mrs. C. H. Made by Bendix Aviation Company, 1942 contract. 6.5" across the face. This was used for long flights that required more accuracy than the compass on the pilot's instrument panel. Was also used in US Naval aircraft such as the PBY. Fluid filled, no bubbles. The ring on the top moves freely and has lock screws as well as adjustment. I have had dozens of WWII silk maps, but this is a first. $30 Pictures: A B C EA56 EM Belt and Buckle. light khaki. Rolled as per inspection regulations. There are markings on the belt, but I cannot make them out. The length is short, but in nice condition. Pictures: A B C D EA57 WWII Tunic, two pair of pants (light weight wool and the winter issue), Visor cap and garrison cap, oilcloth cover for visor, garrison belt. The tunic is size 40R and the pants are 36w 31L, Rafel Yates stood 6'2" at that time and was an engineer assigned to an airfield in England. The 8th and 9th AAC flew out of that base and wanted their own construction crew there to repair any damage from bombing or hard landings from their own bombers. Ray wore the AAC collar disk on his jacket and the 9th AAC patch on the left shoulder. The 9th patch, the winged star, one Tech sgt. rank, the Hershey bars, and the ruptured duck were taken off by his wife to make a display picture frame of his military exploits. I got the 9th AAC patch, the winged star, and the Tech Sgt. chevrons that he had as extras and they stay with the uniform. The garrison cap has the engineer piping. The winter wool straight leg pants seldom made it home as the soldiers were shipped out in the summer of 45, so these are difficult to find. He was a 2nd class Medic who was in the war from the first of 42 to the end in 1945. There is a second tunic with naval rating, but the right sleeve has moth holes so consider it a 'freebie'. The manual indicates that the company started in 1928 and is used by 'our own and other governments" A 28 page instructions booklet is rich with drawings and instructions. EM1 Soviet Wrist Compass, Glow in the dark face with sighting points on the surface, leather strap with buckle, Needle lock, The back is Bakelite with a Bas relief Propeller with three blade, the Russian letter for TS 1p.20k.
