RB1    Orders & Medals of Japan and Associated States,   James W. Peterson.  O. M. S. A. Monograph No. 1  First edition 1967. (long out of print)   Paperback.  8.5" X 11", 110 pages of information on difficult to identify medals with great photography.  I bought this book in 1972 and it has been the best reference that I have come across.  Forgive the fingerprints on the outside white cover, this is a 'user' that more than paid for itself many times over.  $35    Pictures:    A        B        C        D        

RB2    The Officer's guide.  567 pages.  The forward reads: "authoritative source of information and counsel about many of the difficult problems which face the individual as a commissioned officer of the army of the United States"  Everything from placement of insignia to hats, uniforms, piping, etc.  Copyright is 1943 and is named to E.D. Lundstedt 11/5/43.  paper has yellowed a bit with age, but is otherwise perfect.    $35    Picture  SOLD

RB3     Hokusai Life and Works by Richard Lane.    320 Pages  with hundreds of black and white as well as color prints of the works of one of the masters of Japanese Block Prints.  9.75" X 12.5" complete with the paper jacket in new condition The book format is according to the periods of his styles and the description of the work and the technique is superb.  Published in 1989, this is the First American Edition and is no longer available.  If you like block prints, you will love this book.  $80    Pictures:    A        B        C        D        E        F           

RB4  German Infantry Weapons Vol, 1  Paperback, 1966.  190 pages of diagrams, pictures, and related data on all kinds of WWII German weaponry.  $35    Pictures:    A       B    

RB5   SEEMACHT DEUTSCHLAND.  Hardback by Heinz Bongartz, 1940, 8" by 11", 275 pages.  history of the growth of Hitler's Navy that includes submarines, e-boats, destroyers, etc.  rich with photographs.  $45    Pictures:                       

RB6    The Hand Cannons of Imperial Japan.  Hardback by Harry Darby, First Edition, 1981, 282 pages, 11.25" X 9", excellent condition but without the paper jacket.  Beautiful color  shots of the weapons and great drawings of proof marks, exploded drawings of the weapons, and lists of manufacture dates, company, and numbers produced.  Amazon lists this book for up to $255.  I will take $150   Pictures:    A        B        C         

RB7   German Daggers and dress side arms of World War II by Dr. Kurt-Gerhard Klietmann.  Copyright 1967, one of the first dagger books out for the collector.  Paperback, 50 pages.  He was a producer of medals etc during the war, so the book gives some interesting points of view. $25    Pictures:    A        B              

RB8     The Luger Book. Paperback by John Walter.  11" X 8.75"  First published in Great Britain in 1986, First American Edition published in 1991,  287 pages arranged in an encyclopedia format with everything that  the luger collector could desire to know.  Interspersed with original photo's of the Luger in action.  $20  Pictures:    A        B         

RB9    German Pistols and Holsters 1934-1945.  Military, Police, NSDAP.  By Lt. Col. Robert D. Whittington III   Hardback, 224 pages showing pictures and proof marks of just about everything you need for reference in this difficult area.  Excellent condition.  $60    Picture 

RB10    Air Force Combat Wings, 1947-1977.  Charles A . Ravenstein.  Hard back.  Dedicated by Major Tom King.   341 pages, pictures of unit patches and insignia plus write-up including: Lineage, Assignments, Components, Stations, Operations, Streamers, Decorations, Emblems, etc.  I believe that there were only two books published by the USAF like this and both are listed on my site.  $80    Picture   

RB11    FN/FAL COLLECTOR'S SERIES:   North American FALs, UK and Commonwealth FALs, and The Metric FAL.  This hard back three volume set is the ultimate in FN/FAL reference books. A total of 794 pages dealing with the research, development, accessories, exploded drawings, and instructions.  If you were to buy the three individually, they would cost well over $350.  This set is like new and costs $250.   Pictures:    A        B        C        D        E        F        G   

RB12    Armies of the Vietnam War 1962-75.  Osprey Men at Arms series.  Paperback, 40 pages, great little reference on uniforms of both sides of the war.  $10  Picture  

RB13    United States Marine Corp.  Osprey Men at Arms series.  Paperback, 40 pages, history of the USMC from 1775 to present showing uniforms and equipment.  $10 Picture   

RB14     Tyranny on Trial, The Evidence at Nurenburg. Hardback by Whitney R. Harris.  1958 second edition.  608 pages with numerous black and white photos of the trial and the evidence in the concentration camps.  The spine has started to separate from the cover but no tears are present.  I couldn't find a reference for the price of this book, there are not too many of these books still around, but think that $25 will be fair.  Pictures:    A        B      

RB15   Kempei Tai, A History of the Japanese Secret Service.  Paperback, by Richard Deacon.  1983, 300 pages of information that gives a whole new look  at what went on before the war and what effect it has on post-war Japan.  $5  Picture  

RB16    UKIYO-E  250 Years of Japanese Art.  Hard back by Roni Neuer and Susugu Yoshhida.  12.5" X 10.5" with the dust jacket in pristine condition.  390 pages in color and black and white of the major works of the artists who worked in Block Print style.  Ukiyo-e is the "floating world' of the Geisha and the Warrior and is depicted by Moronobu, Kiyohiro, Harunobu,Harushige, Choshun, Kiyonaga, Masanobu, Kuniyoshi, Hokusai, and dozens of other artists.  Amazon lists this coffee table size book up to $146, I want just $100 plus $10 shipping  because of the weight.  Pictures:    A        B                     E           

RB17    The Boxer Rebellion.   Osprey Men at War series No 95.  Uniforms, equipment, arms of most of the participating countries in the Boxer rebellion.  $10  Picture   

RB18    Warship International.  No. 3, Sept. 1971    Paper back, 100 pages,   Published by the Naval Records Club, Inc.  To promote an interest in the naval ships and history of all nations and periods.  This Volume highlights: The Elswick cruisers, Guided missile patrol boats for the Israel, H. M. S. Malta, and Shore Museums.  This is the only one I have seen, but it is interesting.  $10    Picture  

RB19   World of Dress Daggers 1900-1945,  Roger J. Berger   1994.  Paper jacket still in place, New.  295 pages of Dress Dagger from 16 countries such as Croatia, Bulgaria, Austria, Italy, Yugoslavia, France, etc.  $40    Picture

RB20    World War I  by David Schermer. Out of Print since 1975, Paper back.  250 pages of great pictures and information about the War to End all Wars.  Lists for $88 on Amazon, yours for $70  Picture

RB21    *Cloth Insignia of the NSDAP and SA by John Angolia.  This is the first edition copyright 1985.  336 pages, very slight wear to the hardback cover.  Amazon had only one listing, and that seller is asking for $559 for his copy.    Your price on this one is $175    Picture   

RB22     The Medal of Honor.  Official publication of the Department of the Army.  1948, hard back, 468 pages of records of the men who won the highest medal in the United States Army.  Some of the records should be made into movies!  12" X 9.5".  This book has been in my library since 1973 and I have just decided that it needs to be moved along to someone else who will enjoy it as a record of America's greatest heroes.  $175 plus postage.   Pictures:    A        B        C        D             

RB23    The New Encyclopedia of Handguns and Small Arms, Christopher Chant.  210 pages, 1995 edition. 12.5" X 10.5", Great color photos and fine write-ups of common and rare firearms.  $25   Pictures:    A        B        C        D        E               

RB24     Brassey's Infantry Weapons of the World.  Out of print, I will sell this for the price on the paper jacket: $50  Picture   

RB25    Russian and Soviet Military Awards,  written in both Russian and English, 103 pages with hundreds of color plates of the Awards.  I have found nothing better!  paperback. $25    Picture  

RB26    Pair of Block Print books: Numbers 3 and 8 out of a ten volume set of the greatest print artist of Japan.  One of the books is of Hokusai but I am not sure of the second one.  They are in the original card board protective cases with the price tags still under the plastic.  About 275 pages total  of prints.  The retail price was $55 each, but I will take $60 for the pair plus shipping.  Pictures:     A        B        C        D        E          

RB27    The Vietnam Experience.  A Twenty-three volume set that covers our involvement in Vietnam.  Each volume covers one aspect as completely as possible, rich in photographs and text.  I will sell this set for $100 and pay the postage.  Picture  

RB28    Collector's Guide to SS and Political Cuffbands.  Paper back, 78 pages, a must to  identify real and bogus cuffbands.  Published by ULRIK of England.  Numbered copy.  Rich in photographs!  $25  Picture   

RB29    US Military Knives and Bayonets: Price Guide.  26 pages, 1997, it gives a good reference of what you can expect to get out of your edged weapons, keeping in mind there has been inflation in the last 7 years.  It will alert you to which ones are more desirable.  $10    Picture

RB30    Nihonto Newsletter, by Albert Yamanaka.  Three volume set of hard bound newsletters with the index!  Excellent reference for all periods of Japanese sword smiths and school.  The best single purchase that I made early in the1980's.  $350    Pictures:         B        C        D        E

RB40    British Army Uniforms and Insignia of WWII,  Brian L. Davis, 1992, Hardback, 276 pages of the ultimate source of British militaria from WWII.  just about impossible to find.  Paper jacket is like new. $75  Picture 

RB41    Sukashi Tsuba,  (Open work iron tsuba)  Printed in Japanese, 240 pages of photographs and information about the smith and his ranking among the makers of Tsuba.  Printed in Showa 43 (1968) 6" X 8.5",  The original paper jacket and the clear plastic jacket are still in place and in excellent condition.    $90     Picture

RB44    Bayonets,  Janzen's Notebook.  Second edition 1991 (the first was a paperback in 1987)  258 pages of exact drawings of the bayonets, proofs, variations of blades, scabbards, and fittings.  Arranged in alphabetical order by the name of the country.  This is the Bible of the Bayonet references and remains un-challenged by any other reference.  $70  Pictures:          B        C               E        F

RB57    CZ-52 PISTOL MANUAL,  1996, 16 pages of information about the Czech CZ52 7.62 X 25 mm pistol.  This unusual pistol incorperates a pair of roller bearings within the slide to insure smooth action.  I think that the action was copied from the German MG-42 machine gun.  (the same one we copied for our M-60 machine guns)  $10  Picture

RB58    Saiga, Hunting Self-loading Carbine,  Russian made sporter based on the AK-47 assault rifle, only with a longer barrel, composition stock, five round magazines. 22 pages on mechanics of the Saiga and 8 pages on the hunting sight.   $10  Picture

RB59    101 Airborne, 1968 Vietnam.  Yearbook of the 101st Screaming Eagles from Dec. 1968 to the end of the conflict.  Yearbook size and style, plastic cover, heavy cardboard mailing package, 144 pages of black  and white as well as color photos and art by the soldiers.  One of the best layouts that I have run across. $40    Pictures:          B        C        D        E        F   

RB60    Nihonto Zuikan, two volume set and the translation of the smith's names.  Shinto Hen and Koto Hen, both in the original  cardboard sleeves and in excellent condition.  An exhaustive study of the signatures (Mei), style of tang (nakago) as well as the blade characteristics of the rated smiths of both periods.  This kind of information is valuable to the collector who needs to reference the mei of a sword they are thinking of purchasing.   Commonly sells for between $1450 and $1650, my price is $1450 plus shipping.  Long out of print.  Pictures:    A        B        C        D        E        F        G        H        I        J

RB65    Shin-Shinto Taikon.  By Iimura. Ultimate reference on Shin-shinto smiths.  Two volume set, 12" X 8.5", 761 pages #1 and 494 pages #2, larger than life oshigata of the nakago  and Mei.  Both come in their original cardboard sleeve and have the plastic dust jackets in place.  This set sells for up to 450 GBP in England and around $800 in the US.  I will include a copy of the translation of the Mei that I put together.  $675 firm    Pictures:    A        B              D        E        F        G        H        I        J        K       SOLD     

RB66    Shogakukan Book of Books.  225 pages (68 pages of color plates) showing Tsuba, blades with oshigata, and Armor.  Most of the color plates are of beautiful armor.  8" X 6.5", cardboard sleeve is present as is the paper jacket for the book.  Japanese text.   Good study book, great condition, and priced right at  $45   Out of print.  Pictures:       A        B              D                F         G        H       

RB67    Nihon no Meito.  By Shibata and Okouchi in 1965.  496 pages, 10.3" X 7.3".  Original cardboard sleeve, one small stain on the very top of the spine.  Other than that it is in excellent condition.  The three periods of Japanese swords covered are:  Koto, Shinto, and Shin-shinto.  High quality photography and a good guide for a broad range of swords. RB68    Vietnam Order of Battle.  By Shelby L. Stanton.  Hardback book covered in soft leatherette finish.  First edition, 1981, 396 pages, 12.25" X 9.5", many color plates of patches, insignia, Distinctive insignia, and un-authorized insignia.  great detail in the units, their assignments, tour of duty, etc.  I have not seen a better book covering the units that fought in Vietnam.  $65  Pictures:    A        B              D        E        F   

RB69    Tsuba Nyumon.     Original plastic cover, 7.6" X 5.5",  192 pages showing examples of the top smiths from the very earliest tsuba to the soft metal tsuba of the Shinshinto period.  Illustrations of the different shapes of tsuba and the names for the parts of the tsuba.  Unfortunately, the text is in Japanese. RB70    Nihonto Nyumon.  Original paper jacket, 7.6" X 5.5", 300 pages of oshigata, style of temper, cross section drawings of the blade, and shape and file marks of nakago covering the three periods: Koto, Shinto, and Shinshinto.  If you look at jpg 'C' on the right hand side, you will see a number:  900 ten thousand Yen, this gives you the old price of the blade.  A good general primer!  Out of print.  $40  Pictures:  A         B        C        D        E        F

RB72    Yumei Koto Taikan.  by Iimura, 840 pages of quality oshigata and photographs of the nakago and blade of Koto swords.  Probably the  best possible companion volume for the Nihonto Zuikan set.  8.5" X 11.9".  In the original cardboard sleeve as well as the plastic dust jacket.  I am not sure if this volume is out of print but I have had it in my library since the mid 80's.  $550   Pictures:    A              C        D        E        F        G        H        I
